LOS ANGELES, CA – SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 – Bug Music Publishing, the largest independent contemporary music publisher in the world, welcomes renowned Gibson endorsed guitarist and vocalist Rafael Moreira to the Bug/Windswept family. Bug Music will now administer Rafael’s Sacanagem Music publishing catalog, represent Rafael’s works for synchronization opportunities, and manage the digital release of Rafael’s rock trio Magnetico’s “Songs About The World”.
Rafael is already known as a preeminent musician – having performed with artists such as Paul Stanley (KISS), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Dave Navarro, Pink, Christina Aguilera and Marc Anthony to name a few. He appeared as a feature guitarist on American Idol’s “Rock Week” 2009, and was the feature guitarist / vocalist for 2 seasons on CBS Television’s Rock Star: INXS and Supernova, followed later by MTV’s Rock The Cradle.
“Rafael is considered one of the world’s great guitarists, as evidenced by his track record of collaborations,” said Bug Music CEO John Rudolph. “We believe he is an extraordinary talent and look forward to working with him as he transitions to an independent feature career.”
Said Rafael’s Business Advisor Mith Niles, “Bug Music has a legacy of working with legendary guitarists / singer-songwriters from Pete Townshend to Stevie Ray Vaughan … they are a strategic visionary in the world of music and a perfect partner to help elevate Rafael’s talents to the world stage.”
Rafael’s musical upbringing began in Brazil, playing rock shows at clubs and arenas with his brothers by age 8. Upon coming to the U.S., he expanded his musical definition by studying jazz, merging it with Brazilian music, layering in his love for the great blues and rock guitarists, and incorporating it all into his own style. His powerful lead vocals and nuanced harmonies accompany perfectly.
